For our poster we needed to design our own billingblock. I made our billingblock, using others from other posters as a quideline. I saw on all billingblocks that i researched that they all used a range of heights, boldness to make particular words stand out and spacing. I found that they used different sizes of fonts to make specific parts of the text stand out from others. This is our final billingblock -->

New Storyboard...
During last Fridays lesson when me and Alex were in exams, Rachel and Mercedes designed a new storyboard for our new teaser trailer. We don't need to redo our animatic but we wanted to re-do a new storyboard so that when we go to film we will have a more organised plan and structure to follow, which will help us to get the filming done in a organised and quick manner. This was a problem we had with the filming we had previously done for our other story, in which we didn't have a structure to follow and therefore got of task quickly. The new storyboard shows that there will still be the 3 production companies at the beginning which is still jellyfish productions, Wolff productions and universal. We are still keeping these companies as in many teaser trailers, there are more than one production company shown at the beginning but as not to take up too much time, they are only played for a maximum of 3-4seconds. This will follow with the first scene which is the reporter (Lewis) who is waiting to interview a famous actress which turns out to Mercedes. This scene will consist of a quick shot of him waiting and then her walking in. A caption will be shown here to illustrate this.We then wanted to zoom into him eyes or use a dissolve which will show he is looking back into his past. Turning out to show how he used to be the geeky, clumsy boy who wasn't good enough for this girl who had an attitude and was a popular girl in the school. We didn't want to give too much away so we are going to use 3 quick clips of him being clumsy and a geek, while showing her ignoring him and almost sniggering at him. A caption will be shown her as if to suggest she wasn't interested in him. These will cut back to his face and then her face, we want her to have a effective expression on her face or maybe sorting out her hair to suggest that now the tables have turned and she likes him instead. This is challenging normal conventions as the boy is normally chasing the girl, as we kept this at the beginning we wanted to give the storyline a slight twist and challenge the conventions with the girl liking the boy instead. We also want to include a soundtrack throughout as this is typically used in rom-com teaser trailers, with not much speech. We wanted a tune which is up beat to hook in the audience but something that suggest love and romance.

Poster Template...

This is a template for our new and improved poster. We are waiting to get a new image to go on the front but using this one at the moment to show how it would be set out. This image already on the poster may stay the same, with the title in the middle and a image showing them as older and her liking hi instead. This is to show how they have changed over time, and to also inhance the romance and comedy element of the poster and film. We will also use a tagline to illastarte the film and this is a convention used in these rom-com posters.

New title
As we have recently changed the narrative of our film and teaser trailer, we also decided to alter the title to make it more fitting for our film and fit the typical Rom-Com genre of film. We decided to change 'Losing' to 'Keeping Faith'. As in our research we found that the would losing is not typical of a rom-com and doesnt suggest what we wanted it too. We have kept the same fonts and colours schemes as pink and blue as they are romantic colours and suggest love between a boy and girl.
We are also keeping the photo on our magazine cover as it still suggests a rom-com and the love between the two young lovers. We will be changing the cover of the poster to something that suggests more of our new story but still attracts the audience in the same way. We are keeping the same layout just using new pictures which we plan to take asap!!

New idea
In recent discussions that our group has had we decided that our main narrative for our film and the teaser trailer which is based around this that we will be creating is too complicated. As our film is a Rom-Com we wanted to portray love and humour at the same time. Our new idea for our film is that when our two main characters (which will stay the same) were younger in school, he was the geeky, clumsy normal guy at school (the same) but she is the girl who doesn't associate with these boys and has an attitude along with a high opinion of everyone (kept the same). In there school days he has a crush on her but she will not give him the time of day, the young boy (Lewis) makes a fool of himself in front of her such as stepping in a puddle, dropping books and walking into doors which makes her embarrassed and therefore she doesn't see him the same way. This relationship that he wanted to happen doesn't. When they leave school and go their separate ways he becomes a star in the acting business while she becomes a journalist. They meet while doing a broadcast at a cinema about his new film and instantly recognise each other, Lewis then thinks of how he used to be and how he is now. She falls for him but he doesn't fall for her as if the tables have turned. We she get the guy in the end????
As we have changed the narrative of the film, we needed to rethink our teaser trailer, as it needs to be short and effective without showing too much of the story as this is what a teaser trailer is used for.
Our new idea is:
She is the journalist filming outside a cinema, meeting the new actor which is Lewis for his new film, not knowing they will meet once again after the drama of their younger years. She starts her broadcast, noticing the new actor in the corner of her eye and realises who it is and he does the same. The expressions on there faces is very important as she needs to look surprised to see how successful he has become and he is just pleased to see her. The camera will zoom in on his eyes and dissolve into his memories of what he was like as a teen such as dropping books, stepping in a puddle and walking into doors. This first scene will be quite short, about 15-20 seconds. The flashback is very fast as we just want to suggest how different he was from what he is like now. We may also add some music in the background, but upbeat as it is a Rom-com and we want to suggest this throughout. In between scenes will also edit in some titles which will illustrate what is happening in the scenes and also to tease the audience to want to watch the film.
I think this new idea will be a lot more modern and have the typical narrative of a Rom-Com as boy and girl fall in love but have that twist which is that he was the geeky, clumsy guy who couldn't get the girl but now he is the star, the girl needs to win his heart. I think this is better than our original idea as the teaser trailer will be a lot shorter and effective, but also doesn't mean we have to change other conventions that we have already decided on. As we have a new narrative for the film this wont effect our filming of the trailer, but give us more guidelines for what will appear in the film, as we don't want to give the whole plot away to the audience.

Font Research
As we have been creating our magazine front cover and poster we decided to do some more indepth research into different fonts that would suit our genre, audience and type of media it is. When looking at other magazine covers we found that the fonts were bold, large and often in capital letters to attract the attention of their audience. We decided to stick with this convention of fonts and looked on dafont.com website which gives a variety of different fonts that would work for our magazine.
These are the possible options for our magazine font -->
We decided to get a variety of fonts some bold and block letters, and some more gentle. We did this so that we could put them on our magazine and see which ones worked the best. My particular opinion is that the bottom font on the left column will fit the idea of our magazine well as in the font it has spotlights in it, this will make our magazine more unique than others which use typical boring fonts. It also isnt to bold and over whelming that will swallow up our image and the rest of our magazine front cover. The second font on the right hand columne I think will be a bad choice for a font for our magazine as it is in block letters, and it will make our magazine look more like a thriller than a Rom-Com.
Rachel made a questionnaire with all our 10 chosen fonts on it, in which we gave out to the rest of the class, as they are in the age range that will are targetting out magazine at to see which fonts they preferred. We decided to do this as it will show what our audience would prefer therefore will make our magazine more popular.
This is a graph to show the results. It shows that the most popular font is font 3 which is bold and eye catching and the least popular font is 4 with no votes at all. Font 6, 7 & 10 also have a low rate of popularity which makes it a more difficult font to use and attract and audience.

First draft of magazine cover
During our last few media lessons we have been planning out our magazine front cover and poster. After taking a wide variety of pictures with our two main characters in, we used these to see which would fit our poster and magazine the best. We took many different pictures so that we would have a variety of images to choose from, which portrayed the right message that we wanted. In our group we researched into magazine front covers earlier on in our project, and found particular conventions that we wanted to keep, these included a eye catching title, image on the front of the main film, tag line, date, price and a house style of colours. We decided to use our own magazine title and style but keeping these key conventions which a film magazine has.
This is our first draft of our film magazine -->
We decided to call our magazine Spotlight as it is eye catching and describes what exactly our magazine is about, new films and characters in the spotlight of their audience which will buy the magazine and what the films. Our house style of colours we decided to have was red, black and blue as we wanted it to match our poster which is blue and pink but after trying these colours on our magazine it didn't fit the rest of our magazine components. The red if bold and will catch the eye of our audience, and it also suggested love and matched the red chocolate box which Lewis is holding. We used a tag line of The Peoples Choice, as we thought this suggested that this was a magazine rated highly by its audience therefore would make it more popular. For our first draft the picture we thought worked well with the image of the magazine, was off Lewis holding box of chocolates and Mercedes having the attitude that she would in the teaser trailer. It suggests to the audience that he is the sweet boy and she is the girl with the attitude and the red box suggesting he loves this girl. It doesn't give to much away but teases the audience to watch the teaser trailer and gain more information. We put in a few headlines with the main ones about our film Losing Faith and the rest about up coming films that would be released about the same time as ours which is in the summer. These include Harry Potter, Kung Fu Pander 2, and the last Pirates of the Caribbean.
