More pictures

As we have taken many different pictures for our poster showing them as adults and him wanting her but this was only one picture of two that we wanted to use. We also wanted a picture showing them as teenagers, and him wanting her. We put the main characters in different positions and gave them diverse props to see which would look the most effective and show how he is trying to win her heart and she is not interested in him. We put them in school clothes, Mercedes in a school skirt, shirt, cardigan and her hair in plaits, and Alex in black trousers and a white shirt. We did this so it would be obvious to the audience that they are younger and this is what happened in the past when they were teenagers in school. We gave him a flower to be holding out to her, as we thought this was a typical choice of prop which shows romance and him really liking Mercedes. We gave her a variety of props such as mobile phone, mirror, lip gloss and powder to be holding and using as her easy distraction away from the boy holding out the rose. We did this so it would show her not interested in him, and the props to show her as materialistic and a popular girl at school who wouldn't be interested in a geeky, clumsy boy like him. We also had them standing up which would work well with the other picture we have decided on, and also them sitting at a table, as this would contribute to the fact of them at school, and younger than the previous picture. When we get back to school, we will be editing our chosen picture and putting it on our final poster.

Editing...

New Pictures
As we are now using a new guy as our main boy character, we decided to also redue the pictures for our magazine and poster.
These are the pictures we took to put on our poster...-->

After looking at all the possibilities we are going to use this picture shown below on our poster:

Started Filming

We started to film our trailer last thursday as we wanted to get as much material to use as possible which would limit our chances of having to refilm parts. We wanted to film the parts of the trailer which shows the two main characters as adults when they have their successful careers and meet once again after being apart for a long time.
This filming we did would be the first thing you would see in our teaser trailer which would show them both as successful and meeting again after being apart for a long time. We wanted to begin the trailer with a shot of him sitting on a chair wearing a shirt and jeans giving him a smart/casual look. We also wanted to give him props such as a cup of coffee and paper in front of him which would show him as a journalist and are typical materials used to show this proffesion. We wanted it to be a quick shot of him as in previous research into teaser trailers the shots are quick and fast and add to the atmosphere. We wanted him to look like he is waiting for someone who he is interviewing which turns out to be Mercedes who is a high flying actress.
The next part we filmed was the entrance of Mercedes the glamorous, high flying actress who he used to like back in school, when he was the geek and she was the popular girl. We dressed her in leggings, heels, long shirt and cardigan with curly hair, as we wanted to show her as a glamorous girl but also not dressed to formal. We didnt want a straight shot of her walking in and the audience being able to notice who it is, so we started at her feet just seeing her heels as she was walking in, then it pans up her body so you can see her. We decided to show the leading girl character in this way as it was different and didnt give away her character, image and career straight away and will hopefully keep the audience guessing on who she really is. These parts would make up the begginning of the trailer in which it will then cut to click fast clips of how it used to be showing how different it is now.
This will then cut to when they are adult again which is the next bit of filming we did. As we had individually introduced their characters to the audience at the beggining we wanted to show them meeting again at the end. For this we decided to keep it simple by using a hand shake of the too characters, but him showing her to a set but her ignoring this and coming and sitting next to him. We decided to film this as we thought it would show how he wasn't interested in her anymore but her liking him and wanting him. This is where the trailer will end and go into the title. We did filmed these clips many times so that we would a lot of material to use and edit, and also filmed it from different angles so that we have a more varied amount of filming to use.

Our New Magazine Cover

This is our new magazine, we have changed particular aspects of our cover, which we think will look better and fit our genre as a rom-com suitably. As our house style colours is blue and pink which suggests romance and our genre we wanted to carry that throughout our magazine cover and posters. For our original cover we had difficulties doing this as we were using the boy holding a red heart chocolate box although it fitted the image of being romantic when we used our house style colours it clashed with this. This is why we deicded to redesign the picture so it would still suit our genre and not clash with our colour scheme. The reason why we thought this needed to be changed was that when we were reseearching other covers we found that they all had a colour scheme that related to the top film they are publishing. This picture represents romance, and also goes well with the use of colours on our front page. We decided to use a variety of pinks and blues so it would make it look more unique and less of the same. We used the colours on particular words that we wanted to be bold and stand out such as the actors names 'Alex Costello' and 'Mercedes Vano'. We did this so that these are the main features that will hook in the audience. We did use typical conventions of a film magazine such as picture which illustrates the main film that it is representing, the film title in a big font to attract the audience, the exclusive bar we found was used in other magazine covers as it makes that story seem more important and will give the cover more diversity. We found that film magazines don't use too many headlines, and do leave some white space so this is a convention we decided to keep as well.
